Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) is the most widely used training method in civilian skydiving around the world.  AFF allows the student to experience free fall from the very first jump.  It is comprised of 9 stages – with each jump, you learn new skills.

It is possible to complete the entire course in 5 days or less, if weather permits.

What to expect:

  • It all starts with a full day ground training. You will learn about equipment, freefall techniques, parachute control, and emergency procedures. This course provides the foundational knowledge for the entire AFF program. You will be ready to perform AFF Stage 1, assisted by 2 instructors in freefall but wearing your own rig and parachute.

  • Stages 1 to 3 jumps are made with two instructors. We will work on overcoming sensory overload, maintaining height awareness, the basics of controlling your stability and movement in the air, flying your parachute and landing it safely.

  • Stages 4 to 8 jumps are made with one instructor. Time to refine those freefall skills and prepare you for skydiving with other people, which is where the fun really begins! In these stages you will get to do fun things like back loops, turns and tracking (high speed horizontal movement).

  • Stage 9 is a low altitude "hop and pop". You will leave your instructor in the plane and perform a solo exit from 5,000 feet, followed by a short delay and subterminal deployment. You have graduated AFF!

  • Each jump will be followed by a thorough debrief of your skydive, usually with video (that you can keep.).  Briefings for subsequent stages take from 10 - 30 minutes.
